This piece was to explain how often in society women are often used as objects, and treated poorly. In some marriages they are treated miserably, which is why I drew it broken and shattered. For a lot of these women, they are being manipulated which is why it is hard to cut the strings. I used the ink as the medium because of the dark subject matter.

 Diana Ortega is a freshman studying visual communications. She is interested in creating comics that reflect her view on life. Diana published a comic called Half Empty on webtoon and helped create a children’s storybook called The Move to China, which is an artifact for Killip Elementary school. She likes to create illustrations and post them on her Instagram and Tumblr. In her free time, she reads other comics and watches animation movies.
